Thank you for stopping by and taking time to find a little more information about me and my work. I live in the beautiful city of Bristol, VA with my husband Jamie, our three little dogs, and our cat. I love it here for the charm of the town, the warmth of the people, and the gorgeous surroundings. The twin cities is just that with Bristol VA being on one side of our downtown main street, and Bristol TN on the other. There's no other place we would rather live.
Not only do I have a deep love for animals, big and small, but I have years of experience with them. Riding, training, and showing horses has been a huge part of my life. My love for horses began at a very early age with our Chincoteague pony, JoJo. I later started professional English riding lessons around the age of 13, riding and showing for many years. Mainly riding Hunter style, I later began riding & showing Dressage. I assisted in training several barn horses as well as training my own horse Dokken. He was a very special horse. Dok was a member of the family, and a best friend to me. I was proud to have him in my life from the time he had just turned 3 until he passed in his mid 20's several years ago.
My background work with pets spans many years as well. My love for pets, dogs especially, inspired me to want to specialize my photography portrait work with them. Many years ago a partnership was created with our local pet store, Pet Partner's. Not only that, but we developed a special friendship with the owner's as well as the employees. We met so many wonderful people and animals over the years and we wouldn't trade that time for anything. We held many events over the year and photographed hundreds of pets during that time. Each one unique.
In addition, I have worked over the years with different rescue groups and local shelters photographing animals in need. Our most recent and memorable work has been with the wonderful Washington County/ Johnson City Animal Shelter, located in Johnson City TN. This shelter has an amazing group of people that work and volunteer there.
